Grade 11
POST-SECONDARY PLANNING
The junior year curriculum revolves around discussion and preparation for life after graduation. Students have another opportunity to sit for the PSAT in the fall and are invited to make individual appointments with counselors throughout the year. In addition, many juniors choose to take the SAT or ACT for the first time during the winter or spring. A class assembly features a presentation by a representative from a college admissions office, encouraging students to begin thinking about their future plans. During fourth quarter, guidance seminars focus upon tasks such as:
- the college search process
- a mock admission committee
- college essay brainstorming and writing
- resume formatting
