FirstClass Email
and Conferencing Setup
FirstClass is a
multi-platform (Windows and Macintosh) communications system that
integrates the power and versatility of email and conferencing with
Intranet and Web publishing. The District recently upgraded to
version 8.0 server.
FirstClass email can be accessed in
two ways - with a web browser or the FirstClass client. The client
offers more functionality. If you are planning to use your FirstClass
account from home you are encouraged to follow the instructions below
for setting up the client on your home PC or Mac.
If you are on the road and want to
check your email you can use the web browser interface. It is not as
effective as the client, but it works fairly well for checking your
email. To access the web browser login type the following in any
web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator):

If you are upgrading from an older client the settings will remain the
same as before.
If this is the first time you have used the client on your machine
launch the program by clicking the FirstClass icon on your desktop.
When you first launch the client it will not find a server. A Complete
Server Setup screen will appear.
In the center of the screen is the word FirstClass.
Delete the word FirstClass and enter the following exactly as
indicated here:
mail.doversherborn.org
Click Save and close the setup box.
Click the FirstClass icon on your desktop.
Enter your userID and password, click Login
