-What did you do in the city yesterday?  - ¿Qué hiciste en la ciudad ayer?

 

Learning Objectives:

-Identify places within the community

-Talk about things that one does in a city or town.

-Identify and discuss different means of transportation

-Compare and contrast a Mexican-American community with our community.

 

Skills:

-City/town-related vocabulary

-To discuss where we need to go to do our daily chores.

-To talk about our daily habits in target language.

-PRETERITE tense

   - To talk about what one did in the past by using the preterite form of “ar” verbs.

   - To be able to ask people what they did or whether or not they did something.

   - To be able to use the 1st & 2nd person singular forms of hacer, devolver & ver in the preterite as well.

   - To be able to correctly use verbs that end in car, gar & zar in the preterite, understanding that these verbs are irregular in the yo form.

   - To be able to use the irregular verb IR in the preterite.

-Contractions al (a + el) & del (de + el)

-To be able to correctly use expressions of time when using the preterite tense (ayer, la semana pasada, anteayer, el año pasado)

-Location vocabularyDetrás de, a la izquierda de, al lado de, etc
