Unit:     Safety, Glass, Equipment Usage

Essential Question (s):

Why is it important to know equipment names and usage?

Why is safety important in the lab and during science investigations?

 

Learning Objectives:

To know the importance of safety and guidelines

To know how various burners are used and their importance

To know how to work with glass tubing

To know the names of various science equipment and their proper usage

 

Skills:

To be able to use and learn safe lab procedures

To be able to correctly use a gas lab burner and adjustments

To be able to make glass bends, eye droppers, etc., using glass tubing.

To be able to name all the science equipment at the eighth grade level.

To learn various skills that will be utilized in upcoming units.

Doing a Lab on working with Glass.
