Learning Objectives: Students will learn how to sing with correct vocal tone and breathing technique. Students will learn how to correctly breathe and phrase the words and melodies. Students will learn how to interpret songs – form and structure. Students will sing in many different styles of music. Students will sing music from various genres. Students will sing in at least one foreign language. Students will learn 3 – 4 songs per semester in 1 – 4 parts demonstrating their singing ability and knowledge. Students will learn to bring all aspects of singing and interpretation together to perform their songs. |

Skills: Sing on pitch and with good tone quality Sing in 1 – 4 part harmony. Learn to breathe in the correct places emphasizing correct phrasing.. Learn to interpret songs. Sing in different styles and genres of music. Sing in at least one foreign language. |

Instructional Strategies & Activities: Warm ups, modeling, singing each others’ part. |

Assessment Strategies: Assessment will be measured by the success of the class to perform these pieces at the end of the semester at a school concert. |
