How do Latin adjectives differ from English adjectives

Why do Latin verbs have four principal parts

How is travel and hospitality in Roman culture different from today’s culture?

 

 

 

Learning Objectives:

To learn adjectives of the third declension

To learn the perfect tense of verbs and be able to distinguish between perfect verbs and imperfect verbs

To learn the uses of the infinitives

To learn how to use the principal parts of the verbs to create present, imperfect, and perfect verb tenses

To learn about Roman travel

 

 

Skills:

Students will be able to match third declension adjectives with nouns of all other declensions. Translation of Latin to English and English to Latin sentences containing adjective agreement will illustrate proficiency in this area.

Students will demonstrate knowledge of vocabulary for all given chapters in this unit by doing class reading or written translation of the stories.

Students will read a story about travel adapted from a Latin author.
