Welcome to a new year of music.  Please check out the website for news, happenings and important information.  On the website you will find the important dates for the music department, concert times and dress, expectations for the performances.

Dear Parents,

 Welcome!  Some of you are new to this school, so welcome. Welcome back to all. On the back side of this letter are the music department dates for this year.  Please make note of them and place them on your calendar.  All members of the Chorus and Band are required to be present at our concerts.  This is our final exam for our course and if a student is not present without a legitimate excuse (death in the family, child is sick) then your child’s grade will be affected.

 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

There are many opportunities to help out during the year.  Examples of these are concert help (programs, stage decoration), Chocolate Café organization, publicity, etc.  Please contact me by email at marilyndowd@doversherborn.org or x8743 (voice mail) or x7216 (office) or see the form attached and return it to me.

Providence Bruins - We are in need of volunteers for some of our out of school performances. Everyone is invited to attend the Providence Bruins game as we sing the Star Spangled Banner on the ice.  The cost for a ticket to the game is $12.00.  If you are interested in going to the game please indicate that on the flyer enclosed and send it back to me ASAP.  Please tell me how many tickets are needed and if you would like to go on the bus with the kids or if you would rather drive on your own.  I expect to take all of the students on the bus.  If you would like to take them home with you, please just let me know.

 A BIT OF INFO

*Concert dress for everyone is a white dress shirt (no tees), black pants, and dark shoes.

*Please remember that school ends at 2:15pm.  A great deal happens at Chorus rehearsals and students miss important information when they are taken out of school early.  Please do your best to schedule appointments on a day other than their particular rehearsal.
