This
course is designed to integrate the theories of science with the process
of technology used in the world around us. The course of study will
provide the student with an opportunity to test and apply theories of
science with practical applications. Class lectures and discussions will
parallel activities taking place in the laboratory, the shop and on field
studies. A variety of career opportunities will flow from this course,
ranging from engineering and building design to industrial management.
This program will be team taught, under the direction of the Science and
Arts Departments. Students may contract for either College Prep or Honors
credit and may apply the six credits toward either the Science or
Arts graduation requirement.
Upon
successful completion of this course students should be able to:

apply principles of scientific inquiry.

formulate hypotheses from available information

develop a methodology to test hypotheses
·
summarize and interpret data
·
present findings in an acceptable written format
·
work cooperatively in a group
make
oral presentations following an established format
