Art History Resources on the Web -- extensive archive of web resources from prehistoric to modern art, western and non-European links, research resources, museums and galleries.

EuroDocs: Primary Historical Documents of Western Europe -- Includes selected transcriptions, facsimiles and translations of political, economic, social and cultural historical documents.

Global Relations of the Many Nations   -- identifies issues that affect the global community

The History Net    -- contains links for both American and world history

NAU Women's Studies Program -- from Northern Arizona University, a comprehensive list of links to world resources on women's issues

Windows on China --includes general information, history, news, philosophy, art, culture, sports, maps, Chinese language and photos.

World Atlas -- has continent and country maps; many links still needed for some countries.  Good starting point; use with Map Quest listed above.

Exploring Ancient World Cultures -- A rich and beautifully designed site filled with graphic and textual resources related to ancient and medieval worlds (including the Near East, India, Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, Early Islam and Medieval Europe); includes links to history, art, literature, and philosophy.

Maya / Aztec / Inca Center -- introductory but not complete information on each of these cultures; focus is on archeology and anthropology, not religion.

Medieval and Renaissance Instruments -- photos, history and use of each type of instrument.

NetSERF: the Internet Connection for Medieval Resources -- Includes links to medieval history, arts, literature, weapons, culture, architecture, archeology, and more.  Good source for information about daily life during medieval times.

Medieval Sourcebook -- an extensive collections of resources; a selective list of topics includes: End of Rome, Byzantium, Islam, Celtic World, Economic life, Crusades, France, Medieval Church, Intellectual life, Social History, Renaissance, Reformation, Exploration, and so forth.

Medievia: Links to sites about Medieval women --- information about famous individual women of the period as well as background material on medieval weddings, women artists, courtly love, witchcraft, religious women, and Elizabethan costuming

ORB Online reference for Medieval studies --- divided by time period (early, middle or late Middle Ages) and country or area; good links to primary sources

Buddhism -- maintains gateways to Buddhism, with links to their newsstand, bulletin boards, and related sites.

Electronic Bodhidharma -- the largest searchable collection of Zen Buddhist primary-text materials on the internet.

Anglicans Online --the unofficial but excellent source of news, information and documents related to the Anglican Church

Catholic Online -- world's largest and most comprehensive Roman Catholic information service; offers research materials, forums, doctrines and publications.  Offers many links including ones to Spanish-language sites.

Orthodox Christian Foundation -- explains the scriptures, liturgy, icons, prayers, and texts of the Greek Orthodox Church; provides links to European and American web sites.

World Council of Churches -- links to many other denominational web sites.

Hinduism --excellent overview of the diverse Hindu world.  The gods, Vedic literature, and Sanskrit are among the topics covered here and at the many links provided.

The Bhagvad Gita -- one of Hinduism's major texts; available in Postscript and Acrobat formats.

Islam -- a gateway to links with Islamic scholars, information about Ramadan and the Hajj, a Muslim chat room and audio/video links

World Cultures: An Internet Classroom and Anthology -- This site provides the reading and course materials of two World Cultures courses taught using web-based materials at Washington State University.

Recipes from Yahoo : Recipes from Countries and Cultures-- Need a recipe from Sri Lanka or Brazil?  Click on the area of the world that interests you or follow the links to the recipe archive.

Afro-Caribbean Music - a musical journey through the Afro-Caribbean world (including countries in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and Indian Ocean) begins with a visit to this amazing collection of musical links.  You can search for information about musical recordings by country, artist, instrument, or musical style.  There are even MIDI clips of drum rhythms, plus samples of reggae and conga, musical styles.

ELECnet --especially good coverage of all 50 states; includes over 400 links to election-related sites.

Issues 2000 -- a great reference site for a complete rundown of the candidates, their platforms and the topics in the news

The Non-Partisan Center for Responsive Politics --a searchable database that identifies the money behind the candidates and who the contributors are.

Project Vote Smart --a nonprofit organization that provides free information about politicians; it has three main areas: candidates and elected officials including campaign finance information, issue positions and performance evaluations, and voting records
