Using a Digital Camera:
Objective: The goal of this project is to learn the basics of using a
digital camera. This includes exploring the features of the camera you are
using, learning how to use flash memory and card readers to store and transport
image fiels, and learning how to print and post images for your printed and
on-line portfolios. Please read the THEORY section (click on the button to
the left).
Requirements: To complete this project you must create an
online portfolio of four digital pictures. You should create a one-page
web with a theme, links and a cover (index). There should be a linked page
from your cover page that contains these four images. The images should be
presented in a hyper-linked thumbnail gallery.
The four images must be taken
using a digital camera, and should show a range of settings - some with flash,
some without, some indoor, some outdoor...etc. Each image should be
cropped appropriately, and enhanced to show good color balance and
contrast. You should provide a title for each image, and a brief of
description of where and when the image was taken.
You should make 4" by
6" high resolution prints for two of the pictures in your portfolio. These
should be printed on photo paper and kept in a safe print portfolio for later
display.
