This well-known saying is part of a phrase attributed to Benjamin Disraeli and popularized in the U.S. by Mark Twain: There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics. The semi-ironic statement refers to the persuasive power of numbers, and succinctly describes how even accurate statistics can be used to bolster inaccurate arguments.

***Parent's and Students***

I am going to allow each student to make up 1 assessment each term.  My goal as a teacher is for my students to do the best they can while working hard.  Because I am doing this mainly for the student who is caught off guard for any number of reasons and does really poor....the highest makeup grade allowed will be an 80%.  Also any student wanting to take advantage of this will need to do so within a week of the return of their quiz/test and ONLY during my extra help time on Monday or Wednesday from 2:15-3:15.

Print out the homework pages for the current chapter and bring the packet to class everyday (or bring your book if you choose).  Students without their materials will receive a zero for the day.....
